Charquini lagoon
At an appropriate time we begin our departure to Charquini lagoon, this trip takes approximately 1.30 minutes. On our journey we will observe the majesty of the mountains, the outskirts of the urban area of the city of El Alto where camelid cattle mainly live.
We will stop at the place called Alto Milluni, from this place we will have our first photo session with the snow-capped Huayna Potosí as a stellar background.
We continue our trip along the gravel road and we will head towards our second stop at the Milluni Cemetery, a place where there is a mining cemetery that dates back several years, then we will stop at Community of Charquini.
We arrive at our final stop and prepare to do the more or less moderate walk of approximately 1 hour. From here we can appreciate a snowy landscape reaching a height of approximately 5340m. We will visit the Natural Lagoon, which at times looks turquoise blue, we will have an extensive photo session with different angles and spectacular landscapes.
We will also visit the small Glacial cave that is located a little above this lagoon (20 more minutes of walking up). From here you can also do another photo session and contemplate the snowy Charquini in its splendor. Our time for the snack (not included) will be about 30 minutes. It is advisable to bring at least a couple of sandwiches and water or hot drinks.
Afterwards we will return to the parking area and return to the city of La Paz.
