Lake Titicaca & Tiwanaku ruins
We leave in the morning to hit the road to the town of Huatajata, There we will navigate for some minutes on a traditional Totora raft on the smaller part of the Lake Titicaca. We can also enjoy at the museum of this local family who show pictures and replicas about their late relative Mr. Paulino Esteban, a master of Totora builder raft.
After enjoying the navigation on the lake Titicaca we will hit the road to visi the epic city of Tiwanaku, the capital of an ancient Pre-Inca civilization.
Arrive in Tiwanaku and we will stop at a recommended restaurant for lunch.
Tiwanaku, during its greatest times was the capital of Tiwanaku was the largest of the world and considered to be the cradle of all American civilizations.
The pre-Inca ruins started endless archaeological debates. The most recent radiocarbon 14 test shows that its edification goest back to 1580 B.C. The main hot spots in Tiwanaku that we are going to visit are: Kalasasaya temple, the semi-subterranean temple, Akapana pyramid and the legendary Sungate.
We will definitely visit Pumapunku ruins and the two museums that shows the different items of this great civilization. In the evening we get back to La Paz.
